Friendship
by Farah Kashwa
People hold knives
Not to kill but to backstab
Blood never falls from the wound
Only trust.

Friends, trust, love
Words we hear everyday
But never knew the true meaning
Words will remain words.

Friendship is a joke
It means two people living under a title
A title that is not underlined twice
A word with no action.

A word I never knew the meaning of
Because I’ve never been taught
I raise my friends
Only to find them growing wing and flying away.

I love to be loved
Sometimes I love to be hated
People say actions hurt more than words
I say not!
