I'm forcing back my tears
I'm trying not to cry
I'm wearing a fake smile
When inside I want to die
My laugh it sounds so empty
My eyes are cold and worn
I watch you hug her tightly
While my heart is being torn
Every time you kiss her lips
My world just falls apart
Every night I cry to sleep
And mend my broken heart
I've tried to keep my hopes up
I say "I have a chance"
But every day all I can do
Is try to steal a glance
Before I was your everything
But now I'm just a friend
When you said goodbye
It felt like the end
I know I must move on now
Find someone new like you
But one thing is for certain
My love will remain true
And even if your heart's with her
Mine's under your control
My hopes and dreams are shattered
But I'd give you my own soul |
