These awful thoughts I have
I don't want them to go away

no matter how wrong it seems
I tried to stop it
tried to turn back the time
back before I became yours
back before you were mine
I want it to all go away
try to erase the memories
But I can't help but think
of the love you gave to me
I've never felt like this
and I doubt I ever will again
I want you to be my lover
but we can never be more than friends
I am still with her
for how long I do not know
Our love with have to wait
but I still love you so
I've got to move on now
try to get you out of my head
It's gonna be really tough though
considering you're lying in my bed
I know I can't have both worlds
and someday it will all end
But until that day comes
I still have a lover and a girlfriend
