Dear Mama
by Manicia Standard
Dear Mama
I know it?s been a while since I really talked to you,
Actually sat down face 2 face and told you what I was really up to.
I want you to understand that I?m growing up,
And it should be in me you trust.
Don?t worry you?ve taught me well and if you trust me you?ll be able to tell,
I know my right from wrong and it didn?t take me long.
Long to learn your disciplining ways,
And trust me it?s going to last all of my days.
I know you think there are some things I don?t remember,
Those things are I remember January through December.
You have to learn to let me live,
For it was the BIBLE in me you instilled.
You told me I?ve been blessed so put me to the test,
I?ll give you & HIM my best and HE will set the rest.
So please understand why I say what I say,
And hopefully we?ll have another chat like this one day.
