Birth Mother Message to My Son |
by Ellen |
I was your mother and you were my son
I had big dreams for us of rainbows and fun
But I was young and my family was strong
They said keeping you would be terribly wrong
So I signed my name and they took you away
For others to love you and teach you each day
I've never forgotten you and I think of you still
My heart holds love for you and it always will
Today you turn thirty and I wish on a star
That I will be able to find where you are
Just once in my life I'd like to see your face
And know that you're happy in whatever place
I would never want to disrupt your life
Or cause you sadness or any type of strife
I'd like to hold you and hear you say my name
And tell me you love me and hold me no blame
I gave you a life that I hoped was for the best
But I need to see you and put my fears to rest
I'm still your mother and you're still my son
We can still have those dreams of rainbows and fun
