The Best One
by Holly
When you broke my heart
It was so hard to let you go
I didn’t want to believe it
But it had to be so

You would grab my hand
And hold me tight
When I’d look at you
Everything was all right

I’d get a weird feeling
And I thought they were butterflies
But I would never get them
With any other guys

They thought we were perfect
And so did I
You said we would last forever
But I guess that was just another lie

Nothing could come between us
Or so I thought
I always sat and wondered
If it was my fault

We would look into each other’s eyes
And sit there and smile
I have to go to class
But we’d just stay for a little while

Your hands always trembled
When they touched me
It was like you were scared
But obviously not of everything

You would say you love me
And you’d be with me forever
One time I cried when you said that
Cause I knew you were my lover

But now you’re with her
And that’s fine with me
She’s a good girl
A whole lot better than I’d ever be

But always think of me
And always remember this
You weren’t the first guy
But the best one I’ve kissed
