The Night and Dawn |
by john smith |
I held you gently close to me
Through the silence of the night
Kept safe within my loving arms
As the moon sent clouds to flight
The wind blew softly whispering
As the sun rose to illuminate the dawn
I carresed your face as you lay sleeping
Feeling so blessed that you were born
The birds in the garden sang their songs
To greet the arrival of a newborn day
As i pressed my lips against your own
To awaken you in the most tender way |
