I Am Only Me
by Laura
I will never pretend to be what I am not
Even if I want someone special to like me a lot
For fake pretences are lies that grow and explode
And deception becomes harder as relationships grow

An open relationship is the most grand
This is something you must except and understand
I hope you never lie to me ever again
That would surely affect how close we are as friends

I refuse to compete for your attention
Never find me fighting for your affection
For I am who I am and that will never change
This way of thinking some would find strange
