You're back in my life,
after months of absence.
I don't know how it happened,
It just doesn't make sense.
I thought you had left,
i thought you were gone.
After the months went by,
I was able to move on.
But when i heard you were back,
i picked up the phone to call.
I had no idea what would happen,
but i was willing to risk it all.
And when I heard your voice,
A tear started to form.
I remembered once long ago,
how you held me through the storms.
I remembered our times together,
and how you lit up my life.
I remembered holding you till dawn,
without a worry of pain or strife.
I remembered every morning,
you were the first sight I saw.
I could not help but smile inside,
because I knew I had it all.
I wanted it to last forever,
but the end finally came.
You were off to the Army,
and I tried to forget your name.
I knew it would never happen,
you had a piece of my heart.
I knew I would never be happy,
as long as we were apart.
But now you're back,
you're home once again.
I don't know what will happen,
but ill see it through to the end.
