You Stand Before me...
by Rahul Sharma
You stand before me, and I before you...
But between us lie miles of distance.
Your heart audibly races;
My God, how helpless love has made me...
I think of consenting; my heart tells me to say no.
My heart tells me to consent to you, and I think no, I must not!
The nights stretch on forever; our conversation remains unfinished.
If you don't say yes, then our story is over.
My God, how helpless love has made me...
You stand before me, and I before you.
Go; fill your skirt with flowers;
My heart wants you to accept it today,
And I too will shower my ruler with flattery.
My God, how helpless love has made me...
