If you are the sun,
then I am a lizard:
content to bask in the glow of your brilliance
Forever.
If you are the sun,
then this must be winter:
raging storms of wet and cold and darkness.
There is no warmth to be found.
Tell me,
can a lizard survive in the snow?
I'm trying my best to get by
without your light.
If I close my reptile eyes,
I can return to those long desert days
when the rays of your radiance
would heat me from the inside out.
I want you to know, that
if this winter kills me..
I went with my frozen eyes and frozen heart
Fixed on the sky - searching for
the light of my life.
