The lonely echoes of a hardwood floor, subtle hints that you are alone
Your days are filled with long bouts of quiet, sometimes you hunger just to hear the phone.
Silence.
I've paid attention to things I'd never noticed before, As life continues no matter your personal hell.
I can touch your heart with these things I say, you feel them I can tell.
Silence.
Who hasn't gone from being connected ,then to be assaulted with the pain of a broken heart.
And to those who are the breakers, I point no fingers I too played my part.
Silence.
To try and fill your days with ferocious activity,Your mind too tired to think.
And then your attacked by moments of silence, you fight it but you feel yourself sink.
Silence.
You actually wonder how you did it, how you lived that single life before.
No matter how hard you try to move on, you cling to the past even more.
Silence.
A piece of paper says your divorced , you have to remind yourself everyday
You catch yourself still calling her your wife, then realize thats a word you must throw away.
Silence.
I scream inside at the loss of life, the equivalent to the splitting of a soul.
The warmth that I used to carry inside has now been replaced with cold.
