As I listen and watch the rain drip down the window,
I dream of a sunny day.
One in which we laugh freely,
The air calming my nerves,
Relaxing my tight muscles.
One in which we walk the familiar path;
Our hearts open journals,
Where we read of past experiences,
Troubles and happiness,
Writing pages of new memories
I smile at the thought of loving you,
Holding you in my arms
And breathing in your scent;
Of feeling you sure arms around me
And listening to your whispers of comfort
Just for me.
I think of your lips,
Both melting into mine
And arresting my soul.
It that moment,
I'd do anything to have you,
To be free to look in your eyes
And see laughter, care, love.
In that moment of pure fantasy,
I am complete;
Complete in only my mind.
How long must that dream remain so?
How long must I wake
And lead the life I do?
How long must I keep from you
This secret of yearning?
No more. |
