I could never do any wrong

Is where I will always belong
I remember when I was small
When we'd play in the park
When we'd sit in front of the fire
For hours after dark
You'd drop me off at school
And joke how you was glad
You acted like my best friend
But really you were my dad
If I ever got into trouble
You would be there to sort it out
If I was upset, you'd already
Know all what it was about
But that was many years ago
And you still treat me the same
You know Ive grown since then
You're spark has turned to a flame
I don't want to upset you
I'm just not a little girl anymore
I'll always be your daughter
I just don't need protecting like before
I still want to do things like old times
Just not holding your hand
I still want you standing by my side
I want you to understand
You know I'll never leave you
Just like you'll never leave me
I'll be there when ever you need

Even time won't change this
